Running Club offers educational seminars on the first Tuesday of every  other month on topics of interest to runners
and triathletes.  All club members are invited to attend the seminars held in the education center.

focused on developing core stability and power will establish the needed base for improved technique,
performance, and injury prevention.   This 'hands-on' clinic provided an overview of functional training and how to

The foot is the focal point for all running activities.  Its structure is complex and varies greatly between individuals.  
Proper care and proper footwear enables one to have a successful running career.  Various problems with the foot
were presented and included the toes, ball of the foot, plantar fasciitis, heel and ankle.  Stretches were presented
as well.

JoAnnette visits Life Time on a monthly basis and can be found in the hallway outside the education center.  She will

Topic:  Self-Myofascial Release Techniques (SRT) for Runners

Self-Myofascial Release Techniques provide greater range of motion, reduce muscle soreness and help to promote
normal functional muscle activity through the use of a foam roller.  By correctly using a foam roller, runners should
focus on the local extremities, hip and lower back muscles to enable one to perform at a higher level of
performance.  The
handout presented at the seminar demonstrate eight specific rolls to achieve the desired results.
