Testimonials
"As a novice to the sport and someone just considering doing a tri, at first it seems daunting.
However, I decided I wanted to do this and knew I needed some help. When I found out about the
tri training classes offered at Life Time Fitness, I immediately enrolled. I took both the first and
second training classes offered at my home club in Romeoville . From the first class, I knew I
made the right decision and planned to get the most out of the program. Both Coach Joe and
Coach Bob were not only both excellent instructors and truly excited about the sport, but gave a
lot of extra communication via emails and additional activities outside of the class to assist with
my progress. The indoor practice tri for instance was a great primer for the real event. Being
prepared and confident is half the battle!
Having just completed the LTF triathlon, I know that I would have not have had as much fun, or
felt as ready if it weren’t for the level of commitment Life Time Fitness has to ensuring high
quality training programs. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone considering a triathlon to enroll
NOW in the training class. As a result, my impression of Life Time Fitness is enhanced by my
recent experience. I believe the tri training is an outstanding additional member benefit and I
wanted you to know of the quality and impact it has had on me personally. I am deeply grateful
for this experience and wanted to express my appreciation to you and your team mates."

"I wanted to say thanks for a great tri class. I think I learned a lot from you and it was very
motivating to be involved in the class. Besides giving us valuable tips and training, I think the
most important thing you gave me was the confidence that I could do it. I wasn't trying to win
anything, I just wanted to do it for fitness and you definitely made it seem like any of us could do
it and that it was a reasonable goal. I thought the class was well-structured and I really
appreciated the practice tri that you included as part of the class. I am very glad I took the class
and I would highly recommend it to others. I really enjoyed the women's naperville triathlon and I
am looking forward to the Naperville one in August. I hope to do more triathlons next season and
maybe I will even be brave enough to try some with open water swims!

"I wanted to take a few minutes to personally thank you for all of the effort you put into this class
to make it successful, meaningful and relevant. It was a great use of my time to prepare for my
first ever triathlon. I am grateful the class exists.
From the first day when coach Betsy got my head under the water to swim during the first
session, to my jump up in the second session working with coach Diana who pushed me to
lengthen non-stop swim workouts and finally the preparation for the practice tri...all of it gave
me the confidence I will need not just to complete the tri. But, to compete. If not with just the
one person ahead of me but with my own personal best. This course gave me the means to
articulate and measure exactly what my personal best is even before the start of my first official
race. I ran my first 5K this summer too...and actually placed for my age group!
Your enthusiasm and passion for this sport is inspiring and even contagious! I enjoyed the mix
of "guest speakers/trainers" who joined us and felt they were folded in at the right times. The
pace overall was great and very non-threatening. I liked the summary e-mails too. I would pass
them along to my husband who watches my 3 yr old and 1 yr old so I can get my workouts in. The
notes helped him realize his contribution, realized the importance and frequency of my workouts
and even gave him some ammo to push me to work out when I didn't want to. :)
I'm sad the class is over as I made some great friends too. I am excited about my new lifestyle
though and look forward to apply this great experience to many Tri's in my future. If there's ever
anything I can do to help encourage others in your class, please let me know."

"One year ago I sat on a beach, read the book Slow Fat Triathlete and decided I wanted to try one
myself, but was not sure how I would do. I was scared/very intimidated to start your triathlon
class and very scared to sign up for the Naperville Women's and Chicago triathlons. One year
later, I have completed both events and actually felt very confident going into the Chicago Tri
this year. Your class gave me a great base with which to work....I can't wait to see how I can
improve next year. Thanks very much for all your assistance this season. It has made a big
difference in my life!"
